O Rio Douro ao longo de 32 Km – desde Melres até Valbom – acompanha Gondomar, sendo este concelho possuidor, através da sua relação com o rio, de um Património Etnográfico único, de costumes ancestrais, que o atestam a pesca da lampreia e a pesca artesanal que ainda se praticam na freguesia da Lomba.
Gondomar, é, igualmente, terra de tradições agrícolas, onde, ainda, alguns lavradores praticam a chamada agricultura tradicional – que se traduz numa forma de trabalhar a terra que se vai transmitindo de geração em geração, ao longo dos séculos.
The River Douro over 32 Km – since Melres to Valbom-Gondomar, accompanies possessor County, through its relationship with the River, a unique Ethnographic Heritage, ancient customs, which attest to the lamprey fishing and traditional fishing which still practised in the parish of Lomba.
Gondomar, is also the land of agricultural traditions, where, still, some farmers practice traditional agriculture call – which translates into a way to work the land to be passing from generation to generation for centuries.
The municipality of Gondomar continues to invest in the Douro River. After the analyses carried out in various river beaches, in order to obtain information about the quality of the water, and the hiring of lifeguards, the municipality of Gondomar approved this morning, with two abstentions of Councillors of the PSD, the acquisition of buoys and moorings for bathing areas inland boundaries of Zebreiros and Melres. The decision was taken at a crowded public meeting held at the decentralized, building of the parish of Haystacks.
With this measure, Gondomar reinforces the implementation of security measures that aimed at the transformation of those beaches in river beaches. Out of curiosity, Praia da Lomba, the only river beach along the River Douro, account, this bathing season, with the supervision of three lifeguards, in addition to the collaboration of the local volunteer firefighters.
